I reflect upon the history of my neighborhood, community and city. I visualize the gorgeous faces of triumph and perseverance. A people who had to adapt for survival and endured so much from those who is sworn in to protect us and the media. As America watch another trial of a man in George Floyd who is no longer here to defend himself, I think of the many others who never received National media coverage. Only to the families and those of us who dare to care will their names live on.
Through this reflection and others( education, affordable living, livable wages, healthcare, quality programming), the people have an obligation to find a way to get involved in their community and politically. YES!! Politically. Help produce through the power of voting Allies in elected seats to address environmental and essential needs give us more opportunities to be the best version of ourselves. We must use our political rights and power to retool the vision and build on a community platform reflective of what our children need to be responsible and even transcendent adults.
In closing , the word of the day is reflect. Amerce , engage and ignite your political powers. Continue to follow Newark’s IMPACT as we engage you progressively on all aspects of the community!!
