As an opportunity for justice presents itself for George Floyd, I ask you to continue to keep the family in mind. As the news broke that the 4 police officers is facing charges and apprehended, I am willing to say the protest directly advocating for police accountability served its partial purpose. The world is watching. The world is not only watching, but is proactive on this journey for social justice. One other point is you need not to worry of anyone’s approval or disapproval of your actions in your protest in whatever ways any of you chose to proceed.
You do not know me, but I ask of you one favor. Support and love on the family of George Floyd. All of us who are advocating for justice outside your city do not see the daily cries, grief and upclose the press conferences of his family. My favor is for all of you is to make a huge presence at the court house as the state prosecutor attempt to levy a conviction on these officers. Call the attorney general Keith Ellison who is also the prosecutor on the case. Rebuild the system and your city in your image. Hold the mayor accountable for instituting a Civil Police Review Board to put the power in the people’s hands. In addition, join the local groups or create your own to better engage the government for your needs. Use your found unity and love as a weapon moving forward to improve conditions for the next generation and enhance your rights. That was more than just “a favor”.
I love and support you. We all do. Thank you for being the another catalyst for change.
God bless
