Dear Newark, NJ Public School board
The time has come to aggressively bring our traditional public school system to the 21st century. In addition, build confidence within our children through learning the great history of themselves through full implementation of the Amistad Act, their city and policy.
First, the time to bring our children to the 21st century begins now. For the past 15 to 20 years, many of our neighboring and out of state public schools have been using laptops for in class instruction and completing assignments. Technology has become a fixture in our daily lives from doing business , in the job field and even in our homes. Our children are using technology as early at the age of one to watch videos and play games. Now because technology and education are the keys to the future, it is time for them to work hand and hand. Every child must be provided a laptop for day to day instruction.
Next , the community is in need of the full implementation of the Amistad Act and African culture , workshops with our elders and organizations to learn more about the great history of the city of Newark NJ and the state of NJ and civic and political science in the curriculum of the Newark, NJ Public School system. This is important for the appreciation and development of our community. It builds confidence and self awareness among students especially black students. The Amistad Act must be implemented as soon as possible. Lets partner with our neighboring school board(s) urban cities and push the Education department of NJ to the very least implement the Amistad Act in every urban community. Each student upon high school graduation must have a greater understanding of policy and how to activate their powers as citizens in this country. Our community and the welfare of the future depends greatly on us protecting and enhancing our rights.
In conclusion, this is not just a letter to the board members, but to all parents, registered voters and constituents of the great city of Newark , NJ. Let’s work together and get ALL our children deserve. If the budget of the government can be open to the penitentiary then we can surely stimulate the elementary. Thank you for your listening eye. I pray your heart and actions follow Newark NJ public school board members.
